We live on a houseboat on the Regents Canal, on one of the most stunning moorings in London, just minutes walk from Kings Cross. We are environmental consultants and travel regularly.
Our houseboat Galatee is on a private, beautiful and peaceful woodland mooring, surrounded by swans and ducks, minutes walk from Kings Cross or Angel Stations. It is a rural haven in the heart of the city.
The space will hold a meeting of 6/8 people around the table. There is a sitting area for a similar number of people, and a kitchen for making tea and coffee (drinks and biscuits provided). We can arrange an excellent buffet lunch for GBP 10 to 15/person. The boat also has an outside space and garden with benches and table. There is a projector printer available and a flipchart can be provided (GBP 15). We can provide all day street parking passes if required for GBP 15.
Galatee has welcomed many groups and meetings. She is fully secure and has the important advantage of a beautiful permanent mooring which enables her to be fully equipped with mains electricity and plentiful fresh water. She does not sway except occasionally in the wake of a large boat going by. She is light and bright, heated with individual electric heaters. There is also a stove in the winter.
Please note that there are 25 steps down to the mooring and a big step onto the boat.
This is a relaxing, inspiring meeting place, full of luminosity and calm amid the bustle of the city.
Simon was very accommodating and welcoming, arrangements were effortless, the boat was perfect for our workshop and the location fantastic. We also enjoyed a lovely short walk along the canal to Granary square for lunch in the sunshine!
Really great space to have a long meeting away from the hustle and bustle whilst still very much in the city.
Great welcome, great venue and we enjoyed a very productive, creative session on this little piece of peace in the heart of London.
Great first Vrumi experience at this fabulous, characterful venue. Welcome and orientation from hosts was fantastic, forgot we were in the centre of London. Great place to get creative.
Unusual venue. Great place for a meeting and being creative - surrounded by nature.
Hosts were great and very welcoming. Will definitely use again.
Always a pleasure using this unusual space for off-site meetings where it's away from the hustle and bustle of people and buildings. Simon, the host, is very accommodating for one's requirements and I have no hesitation recommending the houseboat for others looking for a similar space.
Spacious, stylish and well equipped boat. Especially perfect for the very hot weather that day! The team got a lot of work done but also got to enjoy an unusual location.
Used the space for a private 5-person board meeting, away from the normal hustle and bustle of town office spaces. Great location, food and value for money. Our company would definitely use again.
The boat was charming: as pictured, clean. Warm welcome from Sarah. Very conducive for our all-day meeting of 4 people: wifi, flipchart, nice and generous lunch (be prepared with cash payment if you order this). Convenient location near King's Cross but quiet with views of wildlife! Great value compared with traditional meeting room hire, and much more pleasant. Highly recommended!
